Daily Dialogue


This morning I managed to roll myself out of the backseat of the truck without pulling anything.  I gathered some clothes and disinfectant wipes and went into the restroom at the truck stop where I stayed the night.  I took a shower the best I could... bought some breakfast and chilled at the rest stop for a bit.  I was a little tired, but still ready to roll.  I hit the road around 9:00am for Chicago.  I had about a 4 hour drive... I made a pit stop or two and ended up arriving in Chicago around 2:00pm.  I walked around down town for a bit, hit the old Sears Tower (now called Willis Tower).  I ascended to the top - 103rd floor - and shot some photos from above.  I then proceeded to Wrigley Field.  (Formerly known as) The Sears Tower and Wrigley - what else is there in Chicago?  Check.  Some photos:

I left Chicago and put Ellsworth AFB in Gabby the Garmin.  14 hours!?  Whew... it was about 4pm and I was pretty tired... but I had so much daylight, I wanted to get as far away from Chicago this evening as possible, yet stop and get a decent night's sleep so I could go all day tomorrow.  I have a lot of driving to do tomorrow to reach Ellsworth AFB - it's near Mt. Rushmore, so I want to make it before dark, snap some photos, then again after dark.  I'll stay the night there and get up early and head to Grand Teton and Yellowstone for Day 4.  Day 3 will be mostly driving - probably 10+ hours just to get there... But I should have some Rushmore pics up tomorrow evening.
